How much does tutoring cost?
Small-group sessions run from about forty six to sixty two dollars per student per hour depending on the subject, and HSC one to one runs from ninety five to one hundred and twenty five dollars per hour. Exact current rates are on the pricing page.
Is there a lock in contract?
No. Fees and term dates are published before the term starts and you book term by term. There is no cancellation fee for not continuing into the next term.
What if a session is missed?
Give at least twenty four hours' notice and we will offer a make up session that week or the next. Sessions missed without notice are not refunded or made up, since the group slot or one to one time was held for your child.
Can siblings be tutored at the same time?
Where their subject and stage line up, yes, and we will try to book siblings into overlapping time slots for convenience even when their sessions are separate.
Can we start partway through a term?
Yes, for small-group subjects if there is a place in a group at the right stage, and generally yes for HSC one to one and study skills coaching. NAPLAN blocks are the exception, since they run as a fixed eight week sequence.

How big are the small groups?
Three to four students, matched by syllabus stage rather than strictly by age or school year. HSC Mathematics and Physics run one to one.
Will my child have the same tutor all term?
Yes, that is the rule we built the business on. If a tutor is genuinely unavailable for a session we tell you in advance rather than sending a substitute without notice.
Do you follow the NSW school curriculum?
Yes. Primary and secondary sessions are planned against the current NSW English and Mathematics syllabus, and we also ask what each student's own school is currently teaching so the two line up.
Safety and logistics
Working With Children Checks, online sessions, holidays and parking.
Do you tutor online as well as in person?
Most sessions run in person at Foundry Lane. HSC one to one can run online by arrangement for a family who cannot make the regular time slot, using the same tutor and the same weekly structure.
Do you run programs in the school holidays?
The NAPLAN preparation block usually runs in the term before the test window rather than in the holidays. Ask Grace about holiday availability for HSC one to one, since exam preparation intensity often needs it most in the January and July breaks.
How do you check who is working with my child?
Every tutor and staff member holds a current NSW Working With Children Check, sighted and verified before their first session. Teaching staff who are qualified teachers are accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority.
Where do I park?
There is two hour street parking on Foundry Lane and the surrounding streets, and a public car park a short walk away on the approach to the bridge. It gets tight around the four o'clock school pick up window.
Other questions
How will I know if tutoring is actually working?
A written note goes home after every session, and there is a written report or debrief at the end of each term or block. If we do not think a program is helping we will say so rather than keep billing for it.
