Term enrolment and the first session
A free placement conversation, a short placement check and a tutor matched before your child's first regular session.
The first film opens on exactly this: a student settling into a seat with the tutor who will be theirs for the term. We start with a free twenty minute placement conversation, usually over the phone, about what your child is finding hard and what a school report does not tell you. For most subjects we follow that with a short placement check so the tutor starts the first real session already knowing where to begin, rather than guessing for the first three weeks. You get a tutor's name and a regular time slot before you pay for anything beyond that first session.

The placement conversation and placement check are free. Your first regular session is charged at the normal rate for that subject. There is no enrolment fee and no lock in contract beyond the current term.

02How it runs
Step by step, in this order
Every session: 20 minute placement conversation, then a regular weekly session. You always know which part you're on.

- 02 Placement check completed where relevant to the subject
- 03 Tutor matched and a weekly time slot offered
- 04 First regular session booked in
- 05 Written note sent home the same day
Do we have to commit to a full term straight away?
No. You can book a single session to see whether the tutor and the format suit your child before committing to a weekly slot for the term.
What happens in the placement check?
For maths and English it is usually a short set of questions at and just above your child's current year level, done in the first fifteen minutes of the first session rather than as a separate appointment. For HSC subjects we go through recent assessment results instead.
