Primary literacy and numeracy
Small-group reading, writing and number sense for Years K to 6, built from the NSW syllabus and the words a child is actually stuck on.
The word card session in the first film is an ordinary Wednesday: a small group of four, coloured cards on an oval table, and Emma sitting at the children's height rather than across a desk from them. Reading, spelling, sentence building and early number sense are planned against the NSW English and Mathematics syllabus for each child's stage, with the group kept small enough that a tutor notices which specific sound or number fact a child is avoiding rather than skating past it. Groups are capped at four and grouped by stage, not just by age.

My child is behind their year level. Will they be grouped with much younger children?
No. Groups are matched by stage of reading and number sense, not strictly by age, so a Year 4 student working at a Year 2 level sits with students working at a similar stage rather than with much younger children.
How will I know what my child is working on?
A short written note goes home after every session naming what was covered and what to practise, and Emma reviews term targets with you at the midpoint and end of term.
