NAPLAN preparation runs as a defined eight session block in the term before the test window, rather than as an ongoing weekly program, for Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Sessions cover reading, writing, language conventions and numeracy in the actual NAPLAN test format, so the first time a student sees that format is not test day itself. The block ends with a full practice test sitting under timed conditions and a written debrief with parents on where the marks actually sit.

Every session: 75 minutes, weekly, over 8 weeks. You always know which part you're on.

When do the NAPLAN blocks run?

Blocks are timed to finish two to three weeks before the NAPLAN test window, which falls in Term 2. Ask Grace for the current term's start date.

Is NAPLAN preparation worth it if my child is already doing well at school?

Mostly it removes surprise rather than lifts a mark: students who have seen the format and the timing once tend to sit the actual test more calmly. We say plainly at the debrief if we think the block was not necessary for a particular child.
