Exam and study skills coaching

Short-term coaching on planning, note-taking and exam technique, for students whose gap is organisation rather than subject content.

From
$65 to $85
Takes
45 to 60 minutes, weekly for 4 to 6 weeks

The online practice dashboard shown in the second film is one tool of several: some students do not need more subject content so much as a workable study timetable, a note-taking system that survives five subjects at once, and exam technique that stops them running out of time on the last question. This runs as a short block, usually four to six sessions, either one to one or in a pair, and is most often booked around Year 10 subject selection or the start of Year 11.

What is included

  • Study timetable built around a student's actual subject load
  • Note-taking and summarising method suited to the student
  • Exam technique practice under timed conditions
  • A written plan the student keeps and can update themselves

02How it runs

Step by step, in this order

Every session: 45 to 60 minutes, weekly for 4 to 6 weeks. You always know which part you're on.

  1. 01 Review of current subjects, assessment calendar and study habits
  2. 02 Timetable and note-taking system built in the first session
  3. 03 Timed practice on exam technique across two to three sessions
  4. 04 Written plan handed over for the student to run themselves

03Asked often

Before you book

Not here? It might be on the FAQ page, and if not, ring and ask.

Is this a replacement for subject tutoring?

No. It is aimed at students whose main gap is organisation rather than subject understanding. If we think a student actually needs subject content we will say so instead of running the block anyway.

Can this run alongside a subject tutoring program?

Yes, and it often does, particularly at the start of Year 11 when the jump in workload is the main problem rather than any one subject.
